Jan incorporates both a love of the local landscape with the passion she feels for the dramatic Du Maurier coastline in Fowey.
"Painting for me is an expressive response to a subject through a painterley, fluid technique. I love the use of oils developing my subject with no tools except my fingers creating a hands on experience."
Her current exhibition 'Light, the Sea & Sky' can be seen at the Toe in the Water Gallery, Fowey. Jan also exhibits locally in Nottinghamshire and was delighted to win the Upper Broughton George Harris Cup last year for Best Oil Painting in Show.
Jan's exciting mixed media work is currently published in the Society of All Artists catalogue and featured in the Paint magazine.
